18th SFPE San Diego Chapter Golf Getaway – Pictures
Friday, June 15, 2012 marked the 18th Annual Society of Fire Protection Engineers’ Golf Outing. The event was held at Carlton Oaks Lodge and Country Club in the ‘sunny’ San Diego, California. This year’s event raised over $1000. Monies raised benefit the San Diego Burn Institute, which is a nonprofit health agency dedicated to reducing the number of burn injuries and deaths in San Diego.
This year’s event winners were the ‘Schmidt/Berg/Firetrol/Hughes’ team consisting of fellow foursome members John Durso (Schmidt), George Stivers (Berg), Mike Moffat (Firetrol) and Dave Bhuta (Hughes) with the winning team score of 66. The ‘Closest To The Pin’ winners were Dave Phillips (RJA) and Eric Snyder (NAVFAC), while the ‘Longest Drive’ winner was Bill Anderson, who was also part of the second place winner team (NAVFAC). Third place was claimed by the RJA team and ‘High Score’ went to AON.
It was great to see so many people having a good time, knowing that the effort will help to support this cause. For the local participants, it was a chance to renew friendships while enjoying the event and a good round of golfing.
A big thank you to all of the volunteers who worked at this year’s Golf Outing, as well as those who donated time, effort and money in support.
